    Natalie Portman is a metaphor to the USA. In his eyes, Natalie Portman represents the USA and while growing up in Canada, he was influenced by the media to fear the US. He looked at us as something to fear, like guys see a maneater woman. His shadow weighs a ton = he is burdened by being afraid to take the leap and perform in the US.
